One of the members of the community shared their experience in a forum called "I sit, I stand, Islay!" which is a non-cigar related specialty forum, and has over 2257 views, 22 replies, and 11 participants. This member had visited one of the famous whiskey distilleries on Islay, Lagavulin, which distills a strong scotch with an intensified character of smoked butter, peat, and a hint of hickory that is prominent but difficult to resist. They had paired this whiskey with a cigar which exhibits a similar strength and intensity in flavors. Moreover, they suggested that cask malts and whiskey matured in Bourbon barrels can be paired with a cigar that leans towards medium or full-bodied strength, balancing out the smoke and peat.
