History of Padron Cigars

Padron cigars are a world-renowned premium cigar brand that has been around for over half a century. The brand has a rich history that begins in Cuba, where the Padron family started their tobacco farming and cigar-making business.

Jose Orlando Padron was born in Cuba in 1926 and spent his childhood working on his family's tobacco farm. When he was just 12 years old, his family fled Cuba and moved to Miami, Florida, where they began a new life. Jose continued to work in the tobacco industry and eventually founded Padron Cigars in 1964.

The first Padron cigars were made in a small garage in Little Havana, Miami, using tobacco leaves that Jose had brought from his family's farm in Nicaragua. Despite the humble beginnings, Padron Cigars quickly gained a reputation for producing high-quality, handcrafted cigars.

In the early years, the Padron family faced many challenges, including financial struggles and difficulties with the US embargo on Cuba, which made it difficult to import tobacco. However, they persevered and continued to grow their business, eventually becoming one of the most respected names in the cigar industry.

Padron Cigars are now made in their state-of-the-art factory in Esteli, Nicaragua, using only the finest tobacco leaves from their own farms. The brand is known for its consistent quality and exceptional flavor, and has won numerous awards over the years.

In addition to producing some of the best cigars in the world, the Padron family is also known for their philanthropy. The Padron Family Foundation was established in 1985 to provide aid and support to those in need, and has helped thousands of people in Miami and Nicaragua.
