Cleaning Humidor Mold

Mold is a common problem that can occur in humidors due to excessive moisture or poor maintenance. It's important to address any mold growth in your humidor as soon as possible to prevent it from spreading and potentially damaging your cigars. Here are some steps you can take to clean mold from your humidor:

1、Remove all the cigars from the humidor and dispose of any that are affected by mold.

2、Empty the humidor of any accessories, such as humidifiers, hygrometers, or cedar trays.

3、Using a soft, dry cloth, wipe down the interior of the humidor to remove any visible mold.

4、Create a solution of equal parts distilled white vinegar and water. Dampen a clean cloth with the solution and wipe down the interior of the humidor.

5、Allow the humidor to air dry completely.

6、Once the humidor is dry, place a small dish of activated charcoal or baking soda in the bottom to absorb any remaining moisture and odors.

7、Replace the humidifier and other accessories, and let the humidor stabilize at the desired humidity level before placing any new cigars inside.

It's important to regularly monitor the humidity level and temperature inside your humidor to prevent mold from forming in the first place. If you notice mold growth despite your efforts, it may be a sign that your humidor is not properly sealed or that the humidity level is too high. In this case, you may need to consider replacing your humidor or taking additional measures to control the humidity.
